my name is madeleine ours and i'm a french-american artist based in echo park, los angeles, and i'm also the founder of mads operandi studio.

i'm a self-taught painter working primarily in acrylic, occasionally mixing in whatever materials feel right, whether that's polymer clay, glitter, pom poms, or dried leaves that I've pressed in the pages of a book for a few months before applying it to a canvas.

my work explores color, intuition, nostalgia, and playful symbolism.
